Community Guidelines

Dear Bestie LLC

Last Updated: July 25, 2026

Dear Bestie exists for one reason: to help women build real, platonic friendships in a space that actually feels safe. These Guidelines are the promises we make to each other so this community stays that way. They apply to everything on Dear Bestie — profiles, photos, messages, circles, and events — and they work alongside our Terms of Service. Break them and we may remove content, restrict features, or remove you from the community. Serious violations mean an immediate, permanent ban and, where the law requires, a report to the authorities.

Be real.

Be the actual you. Use your real name and recent photos of yourself. No impersonating another person, no catfishing, no pretending to be someone you're not, and no accounts created on someone else's behalf without permission. Every member is ID- and selfie-verified — keep it honest after verification, too.

This is a women's space for platonic friendship.

Dear Bestie is for women 18 and older, and it's for friendship — not dating, not hookups, not romance. Don't use the app to pursue romantic or sexual connections, and don't solicit sexual content or services.

Keep it kind.

No harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact. No unsolicited comments on someone's body or appearance. Disagreement is fine; cruelty is not. If someone asks you to stop, stop.

No hate or discrimination.

No attacks, slurs, or dehumanizing content targeting anyone based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic. Dear Bestie welcomes all women, including transgender and non-binary women, and there is zero tolerance for transphobia.

No nudity or sexual content.

Keep profiles and messages free of nude, sexually explicit, or sexually vulgar content. Sending unsolicited sexual images or messages ("cyberflashing") is never allowed.

Protect children — zero tolerance.

We have absolutely no tolerance for any content or behavior that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a minor, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form. We remove it immediately, permanently ban the account, preserve evidence, report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and cooperate with law enforcement.

No violence or dangerous content.

No threats of violence, no glorifying or promoting violence, terrorism, or violent extremism, and no graphic or gory content. No content that promotes or facilitates human trafficking or physical or sexual harm.

No promotion of self-harm.

Don't post content that encourages or glorifies suicide, self-injury, or disordered eating. If you're struggling, you're not alone — you can reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988 (U.S.). If you see someone at risk, please report it so we can help connect them to support.

Nothing illegal.

No buying, selling, or promoting illegal drugs, weapons, or other regulated or illegal goods and services, and nothing else that breaks the law.

No scams, fraud, or financial exploitation.

No financial scams, phishing, deceptive schemes, or pressuring another member for money, gifts, or financial information.

Keep it non-commercial (with one exception).

Don't use Dear Bestie to spam, advertise, or run a business — except through features we provide for that purpose (such as promoting your own business on your profile), used as intended and within these Guidelines. No bulk or repetitive messaging.

Respect privacy.

Don't share anyone's private or identifying information without their consent, and never post intimate images of someone without their permission. What's shared in the community stays in the community.

Don't game the platform.

No bots, scripts, scraping, or automated access. No multiple or fake accounts, and no creating a new account to evade a ban.

Behavior off the app matters too.

Serious misconduct that happens off Dear Bestie but affects the safety of our members can still result in removal.

Reporting and enforcement.

If something feels wrong, report it — use the Report and Block tools on any profile, message, circle, or event, or email hello@dearbestie.app. Reports are reviewed by the Dear Bestie team. Depending on severity, we may warn you, remove content, limit or suspend your account, or permanently ban you, and we may involve law enforcement. We apply these Guidelines with care, and we may update them as our community grows.

Thank you for helping keep Dear Bestie a place where real friendships can happen.
